SilverSneakers® is a fitness and wellness program offered as a benefit through some Medicare Advantage Plans. Membership in SilverSneakers grants access to a number of gyms across the country, local fitness classes and meet-up groups, as well as online resources like live virtual classes, workout videos, healthy living articles, and more.
Classes and resources from SilverSneakers are specifically designed for the variety of fitness interests and lifestyles of adults 65 and older.
SilverSneakers Eligibility
Original Medicare (Parts A and B) does not cover fitness programs or gym memberships. However, if you have a Medicare Advantage Plan, you may be eligible for SilverSneakers or another fitness program. To see Silversneakers eligibility rules and find out if you qualify, simply go online to SilverSneakers.com and submit your information. If you are eligible, sign up and take your 16-digit SilverSneakers number to any of the participating locations for access to equipment and fitness classes. You can also access the many online classes and resources available once you have created a SilverSneakers account.

What if my Medicare plan doesn’t include SilverSneakers?
If you have Medicare Parts A and B only, a Medicare Supplement Plan, or a Medicare Advantage that does not include SilverSneakers or a similar fitness program, you may be able to find a Medicare Advantage Plan in your area that does include SilverSneakers.
