The Medicare Annual Enrollment Period ends on December 7. Here are a few things to remember prior to enrollment.

• Reflect on any medical changes you’ve experienced over the past year. This will help you decide whether you are interested in making a change in your Medicare coverage for the coming year. This is also a good time to take note of your current prescription medications and any doctors that you see regularly or plan to see in 2024.
• If you were enrolled in Medicare in 2023, you should have received an Annual Notice of Change in September. This document details changes in your plan’s coverage area, cost, and benefits.
• Find your red, white, and blue Medicare card. Having this handy prior to enrollment will help the process run smoothly. Note that your Medicare card is separate from your Social Security Card.

What is AEP?

AEP, also known as the Medicare Annual Enrollment Period or Open Enrollment, is the time of year when Medicare beneficiaries have the opportunity to update their Medicare coverage. Many people use AEP to switch from Original Medicare to Medicare Advantage, switch between Medicare Advantage plans, or enroll in Part D. Learn more about the Annual Enrollment Period.

What is Part C?
